Life is an ever-changing experience filled with both great opportunities and difficult challenges. For the person who has embraced the idea that life the way they have lived it can no longer be, the challenge before you is to shift the culture. This idea of culture shifting is what many corporations undergo after assessing their current practices and paradigms, against expected outcomes. They expected more but for some reason, the current culture has produced far less than what was expected. The lack of productivity that consistently occurs demands examining current paradigms and practices to determine their usefulness and effectiveness. The culture in work environments is oftentimes influenced by the thoughts, perceptions and opinion of others and these play a vital role in determining the cultural attitude.
Translate that to our personal lives and we will see the same. We have personal opinions, perceptions and even attitudes that stifle our effectiveness. There are many practices and paradigms we incorporate into our lives on a daily basis that have not yet yielded the expected outcome. It’s been said that “insanity is doing the same thing over again expecting a different result.” There are countless people who need to put up a sign that reads: UNDER CONSTRUCTION as it pertains to their lives. Initiating a culture shift in your life begins when you make the choice for kingdom values for it’s at the point where you come under the rule and reign of God for your life. Scripture says; “I have set before you life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep his commands, decrees, and laws; then you will live and increase, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.” (Deuteronomy 30:15-16)
How do you envision your future? If you can’t see one, know that God has glorious future waiting for you to seize. It’s there for you but you will have to lead your own personal culture shift!
People were made for community and without our engagement in community, we limit ourselves. When God said in Genesis 2:18; “it’s not good for man to be alone”, He wasn’t primarily speaking about marriage, but He was eluding to community. Continue reading The Power of Relationships
If you were to ask yourself the question; “What keeps me from pursuing my dreams?”, how would you answer it? Many people have forfeited their futures, dashed their dreams and even sabotaged their own happiness simply because they were afraid! Afraid of failing, afraid of trying, afraid of being misunderstood or even afraid of succeeding. Whatever the rationale is, the underlying issue is fear. Fear, when kept in its proper context is very healthy, however, when its allowed to run rampant in our lives, it becomes toxic and unhealthy.
As people of faith, God challenges us to feel the fear, but move anyhow. Isaiah 35:4 says; “say to those with fearful hearts, Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance, with divine retribution he will come to save you.” The journey of faith is never without complications, challenges and obstacles, therefore, how you approach your future is always determined by how you handle your fear. God promises to assist you, no matter what life brings you and His assistance is designed to help you fulfill your created purpose. Fear paralyzes, but faith propels and if you are being held hostage by fear, this is a good time to remind yourself that my future can still be successful!
The first step in becoming successful happens when you put your fears in their proper place – the back seat! I dare you to look at everything telling you why you can’t succeed and declare – Not This Time!
Life is full of new beginnings! However, many of us fail to seize the newness of life because we resist reaching! God has more for each of us but it requires reaching beyond where we are, in order to seize what lies before us. Jesus said in Matthew, “no man can put new wine into old wine skins unless he breaks the old skins and waste the wine”. He goes on the say that if a man continues to drink the old, he will have no taste for the new! Jesus is articulating to us the fact that He represents the new paradigm upon which are lives are to be guided by and in order for Him to fill us with His newness, we must abandon the generational teachings of tradition and ritual.
God has destined each of us for greatness but achieving greatness begins when we embrace the newness of spiritual growth. I have learned that everything my grandmother taught me wasn’t necessarily the Gospel truth and I’m sure you can identify with what I’m saying. You may be approaching your spiritual growth using some of the same methods that you were raised with, but you are feeling as if nothing is happening. You may be doing what Big Mama said, doing what Papa did and even doing what Momma showed you how to do, but what Jesus is teaching us here is that He brings a new understanding and perspective!
Generational religion is not what Jesus was ascribing to because He was providing relational revelation! Why don’t you make the choice and try the new that He brings? Why not take a drink from the cup of newness that Jesus offers? At this stage, you have more to gain by doing so. You may think that you’ve come to far now to break free from what you have held on to as truth, but let me encourage you by saying; God desires to blow your mind!
It is my prayer that these blogs are encouragement for you, as you pursue the destiny God has awaiting you! As you pray over what’s been shared, remember this: The Best Is Yet To Come!
